THE CURIOUS MIND JOURNAL

Give your perspective a turn.

Spatial reasoning tasks ask you to mentally rotate, reflect, and compare figures. A familiar shape can look different when you move your point of view.

Rotation and reflection are different

A rotation turns a shape without reversing it. A reflection changes handedness. Look for an asymmetric feature, such as a gap or an uneven arrangement, to distinguish the transformations.

A useful strategy

Imagine an intermediate turn instead of jumping straight to the answer. Track one distinctive feature through each step, then check the rest of the figure.

What this assessment includes

The full reasoning assessment includes spatial tasks within a balanced 24-item session. Your category result is descriptive and based on a small sample. It is not a standardized spatial ability score.
