Why memory needs a separate task
Remembering an image briefly, learning information across repetitions, and recalling an event are different processes. A credible assessment must specify which process it targets, how it is administered, and how its scores are validated.
Reasoning is not a memory diagnosis
Some reasoning tasks involve keeping a rule in mind, but success does not establish a measure of working memory. We do not convert reasoning performance or completion speed into a memory score.
When to seek professional help
If you have concerns about changes in memory or daily functioning, a recreational online task is not a diagnostic tool. Speak with an appropriately qualified health professional.
